Alex Laudrup is a partner with HAFNIA LAW FIRM.
Alex was born in 1946 and obtained his law degree from the University of Copenhagen in 1972 after having studied maritime law in Denmark and in USA.
Alex started his career at the Danish Shipowners’ Defence Association and the SKULD P&I Club, Copenhagen, and became a section manager in 1978. In 1982 he changed address and was appointed managing director of the Shipowners Council of Copenhagen and worked also as a maritime lawyer. In 1989 he moved with his Council to the law firm Gorrissen Federspiel, where he became a partner and subsequently the head of the maritime and transport department. For a longer period of time Alex has also functioned as the President of the Maritime Law Association / CMI, Denmark.
Practice areas
Alex works within all areas of the shipping and transport law as well as marine insurance. He predominantly advices on the following matters:
Charter Parties, Bills of Lading and International contracts
Contracts relating to intermediaries including brokers and agents
Collision and salvage
Marine insurance
Non-marine insurance an re-insurance
Shipbuilding and repair contracts
Litigation and arbitration
Alex has also been a member of a number of board of directors within the Danish shipping and transport industry.
