Anders Bjørn Nielsen was born in 1982 and obtained his law degree from the University of Copenhagen in 2006. Anders studied at Duke University School of Law in 2005. From 2006 to 2011 Anders worked with the law firm Gorrissen Federspiel where he specialised in corporate and finance law, insurance law and dispute resolution.
Practice areas
Anders works within all areas of shipping and related industries, dealing particularly with the following matters:
• Ships finance and other asset finance
• Insurance and reinsurance
• Derivatives
• Establishing of companies and structuring of groups
• Sale and purchase of companies
• Joint ventures
• Loan agreements and financing of companies
• Restructuring of companies and insolvency matters
• Collecting of debt and enforcement
• Litigation and arbitration
Anders has several years of experience in teaching law at university level. From 2003 to 2006, while still a law student, Anders was tutor at the University of Copenhagen. From 2007 to 2009 Anders worked as assistant lecturer in contract, tort and property law. Since 2009 Anders has been external lecturer with both Aarhus University and Copenhagen University where he lectures on international arbitration, private international law and international commercial law.
